Papillion author, Vicky Decoster, will be at the Library on Saturday, February 18th from 11AM - 1PM to sign copies of her newest book," From Diapers to Dorkville". Please join us. Refreshments will be served.
THANK YOU SPRINGFIELD RUNZA RESTAURANT
Our local Runza Restaurant donated the proceeds of it's "Great Books for Great Kids" fundraiser. $201.30 will be used to purchase new children's books. Thank you to the Springfield community for eating at Runza on September 27, 2011. 15% of all sales that day were donated for the Library's young readers.
WATT DETECTOR KIT PROGRAM
The Library together with Omaha Public Power now offers a Watt Detector Kit to monitor the amount of electrical power various household appliances use. The device calculates how much money or energy is spent on a daily, monthly or yearly basis. Kits and instructions are available at the library for a 2 week checkout period.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
The next Friends of the Library meeting will be held on February 9th, 2012 at 6:30p.m. Please consider joining this worthwhile organization. Meetings generally last 30 -45 minutes and are held monthly, September - May. Major fundraisers include the Used Book Sale, Christmas Cookie Walk, and the Duck Drop Race. Most involve a minimum amount of time. For more information, contact the library at 402-253-2797.
